Business Office Overview
The Discovery Park Business Office supports the business
and sponsored programs needs of faculty conducting research within Discovery
Park. The Discover y Park Business Office staff plays an important role in
both the submission and management of large inter-disciplinary research
grants.
Awards made through Discovery Park will be administered through the Discovery
Park Business Office. The staff will assist the faculty with on-going interactions
with the sponsoring agencies, administer subcontracts, process prior approval
requests, prepare budgets for continuation requests, prepare financial reports,
manage, track and transfer cost sharing commitments.
Due to the physical separation, customer service processes have been implemented
to enable the faculty member's home business office to continue providing
purchasing, payroll and travel services. In effect, the faculty member gets
the best of both worlds...expert business and SPS services during the proposal
preparation process, award management and reporting and a single account
manager across all sponsors while still maintaining the convenience of their
home business office for day-to-day transactions.
