Core Courses
ENTR 20000 (Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation)
The first course required for the certificate program, ENTR 20000 covers the fundamentals of starting new ventures. Topics include:
- characteristics of entrepreneurs
- the role of entrepreneurship in the economy
- opportunity assessment
- market and competitive analysis
- entrepreneurial finance and funding
- mechanics of company formation
ENTR 20100 (Marketing & Management for New Ventures) [Prerequisite: ENTR 20000]
This course picks up where ENTR 20000 leaves off, providing you with the details of developing and running your business. Topics include:
- components of the business plan
- market research, analysis, and planning
- sales and distribution strategies
- marketing strategies in the digital age
- financial tools, statements, and forecasts
- process and project management
- leadership, team building, and ethics
ENTR 48000 (Entrepreneurship Capstone)
The final requirement for the certificate program, the course will allow you to work on a business plan and interact with leading entrepreneurs and speakers from various disciplines. Held in the Burton Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, the course is led each semester by a different practicing entrepreneur or venture capitalist.
