Proteomics Facility

A new proteomics infrastructure is established at the Bindley with an expert scientific staff to provide a broad range of proteomics research capabilities and unique approaches to analyses of intact proteins and peptide fragments. Coupling innovative methodologies and technologies developed here at Purdue, we enable analyses of post-translational modifications of the proteome that have not been possible until now. Bindley projects employ these technologies for biomarker discovery in health and disease - a signature research area at the BBC.

Metabolomics Facility

The Bindley Bioscience Center, working in cooperation with several academic units, has established new comprehensive Metabolomics Facilities enabling a wide range of approaches to metabolite profiling in complex biological systems. The Facilities support efforts to define or catalog all components of a metabolome, "qualitative metabolomics," as well as those aimed at understanding differential concentrations of metabolites, "quantitative metabolomics." Highly sensitive mass spectrometers coupled with multi-dimensional gas and liquid chromatography (GC- and LC-MS) are employed in the context of active protocol development and validation. These new Metabolomics Facilities provide Purdue researchers access to these new technologies as well as training and consultation with expert Bindley research scientists.
