Varsity Soccer Complex
From its inception, the Purdue soccer program
has enjoyed a state-of-the-art facility that rivals the best in
the nation. Located at the corner Cherry Lane and McCormick Road,
the first-class home for Boilermaker soccer became a reality on
September 10, 1999, when Purdue took the field and defeated the
Central Florida Knights, 4-2, on the first day of the first annual
Boilermaker Challenge Cup. Two days later, the Purdue athletics
department formally dedicated the field with a special ceremony
before Purdue took on Delaware for the Challenge Cup championship.
The Complex features two playing fields - one seeded and one sodded, a neutral-zoned, enclosed press box, permanent dugouts for each team on one field, grandstand seating for 500 on both fields, permanent Daktronics scoreboards on both fields, and an underground drainage and sprinkler system.
