Lambert Fieldhouse
Lambert
Fieldhouse was built in 1937 and has a six-lane, 200-meter track.
The surface is wall-to-wall "Rekortan," and has a capacity
of 3,500. The facility is named after the late Ward "Piggy"
Lambert, basketball coach at Purdue from 1917 to 1945. It has been
the site of five Big Ten Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships
(1941, 1973, 1978, 1986 and 1991) and the 1988, 1994 and 2001 Big
Ten Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Lambert was previously home to the Boilermaker men's basketball team and the men's and women's swimming and diving teams.
The pool area was recently renovated to create the Blake Family Wrestling Training Center. The new facility gives the Boilermakers over 4,3000 square feet of unobstructed wrestling area, as well as a designated area for cardio fitness machines and a video room.
